CBRN training

Europe’s leading and largest event for emergency services personnel, NCT Europe 2021, will take place between 5–7 October 2021. The event is part of the globally recognised NCT event series organised by the CBRNe Society. IB Consultancy originally hosted the event, but today it closely assists CBRNe Society and is in charge of the logistical organisation.

The event will be held in Rieti, central Italy, at the Italian Joint NBC Defense School, whose mission is to train personnel from the armed forces and other CBRN defence agencies. The School’s Nuclear, Biological, Chemical training area is inside the former Ciuffelli airport. Argon is proud to say that its simulation devices are used as part of CBRN simulation training activities in these facilities.

NCT is a space for European and international CBRN Defense Commanders, civil first responders, law enforcement agencies, and industry representatives to exchange knowledge on future mission requirements, research and development, and next-generation CBRNe threats.

The event will comprise conferences (CBRNe and eXplosive focused), workshops, industry exhibitions, capability demonstrations, and training sessions during which emergency responders will also have the opportunity to train on CBRNe scenarios.

NCT PRO Training sessions

Military and civil first responder teams will be given training to operate in mock CBRNe, C-IED, and EOD scenarios. Each team will represent either a country, state, or agency and will be matched with a different team, as CBRNe events increasingly require an international and multi-agency response.

Over the course of the NCT PRO Training sessions, teams will be schooled by leading global CBRNe equipment companies on the latest technology and based on each team’s particular expertise and requirements.

The training sessions consist of two components:

  • Product training to teach participants on the use of the latest equipment
  • A training mission, involving a two-hour training session developed by the HZS and MAC-7 trainers

Workshops and conferences

NCT also endeavours to provide the CBRNe community with knowledge and experience through a series of workshops and conferences.

Experts and stakeholders give short presentations to promote discussion and share knowledge.

Each session is based on a scenario, and participants are asked to discuss how they would respond to such a scenario. Additionally, participating companies present their products and demonstrate how they can be used to respond to situations and develop capabilities.

Argon at NCT Europe 2021

Participants can visit Argon Electronics at Booth 17 and will be able to view our range of simulators for CBRNe and HazMat training, including:

  • RDS 200 Radiation Protection Training Simulator
  • LCD3.3-SIM Chemical Hazard Detection Simulator
  • RadEye GF-10 Simulator
  • AP4C Chemical Hazard Detection Simulator (with the SFPE Chemical Hazard Detection Simulator)
  • Radsim DS3 Mini 900 Radiation Safety Training Simulator

PlumeSIM, an instrumented CBRN training system used by many leading training facilities worldwide, will also be demonstrated live at the event.

The benefits of CBRN simulation training

Argon Electronics’ simulators are used by many agencies worldwide, including the London Fire Brigade, the Fire Department of New York, U.K. Police National CBRN Centre, and the U.K. Defence CBRN Centre.

Through the use of simulation devices, CBRN instructors can devise flexible and repeatable scenarios that pose no safety risk to people, equipment, infrastructure or the environment as no chemical or radiological agent is required.

Simulation devices are cost-effective and can be used to create highly realistic exercise scenarios both indoors and outdoors. They provide emergency responders with the confidence to effectively use the actual devices that detect chemical or radiological sources in any CBRN event.

Getting in touch with Argon Electronics

To learn more about how simulators and simulator training can aid your existing CBRNe and HazMat instruction programmes, please stop by Booth 17 to view our products and speak with a member of our team.

If there is a specific topic you would like to discuss, please feel free to contact us ahead of the event to arrange a personal meeting.
