Argon and INFICON launch HAPSITE™ simulator probe at CBRN Convergence 2013

Argon Electronics and INFICON will launch HAPSIM-P, a training simulator probe for HAPSITE GC/MS Chemical Identification System at the 6th Annual CBRN Convergence in San Diego, USA.

Designed for use with the HAPSITE ER and HAPSITE Smart Plus, the HAPSIM-P is the result of extensive cooperation between INFICON and Argon to develop this world class training simulator. Simply attach the HAPSIM-P simulator probe to the HAPSITE to convert the system into a training simulator. The easy to use HAPSIM-P responds to Argon’s electronic simulation sources, producing simulated chromatograms of chemical warfare agents.  The HAPSIM-P does not require a NEG Pump, carrier gas or internal standard gas for operation, resulting in a reduced cost of ownership.

HAPSIM-P also operates with PlumeSIM®, permitting simulation of smoke stack releases and large area plumes in both table top and live field exercises.

“This project demonstrates how effectively Argon can work with a world class detector manufacturer to produce a valuable training aid for its customer base.” stated Steven Pike, managing director of Argon.

“INFICON, in cooperation with Argon Electronics, is pleased to offer the HAPSIM-P to augment the capabilities of the current HAPSITE family of products. Without risking actual exposure, this simulation system trains our customers to recognize HAPSITE response when detecting chemical warfare agents.  This capability is essential to assist safety and security operations worldwide.” said Peter Maier, President, INFICON Inc.
