Argon awarded ISO accreditation for environmental management

Argon Electronics, a world leader in the development and manufacture of hazardous material detector simulators, has been accredited to Environmental Management System Standard ISO 14001:2004. The award recognises Argon’s commitment to protecting the environment, which the company has shown by adapting its business practices to minimise waste and by applying rigorous procedures to maintain those practices in the future.

ISO 14001:2004 is the globally accepted standard for an Environmental Management System developed by the International Standards Organisation (ISO) and has been designed to ensure that accredited businesses implement necessary control measures to protect the natural environment.  To achieve this standard, Argon Electronics demonstrated that waste saving and recycling processes have been clearly integrated into the company’s operations and are observed on a day-to-day basis. Argon Electronics have also put an environmental impact monitoring system in place to ensure the continual improvement of environmental performance.

Steven Pike, Managing Director of Argon Electronics, said, “I am delighted that we have been awarded ISO 14001:2004.  Protecting the environment is everyone’s responsibility and I am proud to say that everyone at Argon has contributed to achieving this accreditation.  We have now proved that we bring the same commitment to excellence to our environmental procedures as we do to developing our business and our products.”

Argon is dedicated to all aspects of ecological protection and now aims to push beyond the requirements of ISO 14001:2004 by reducing pollution and looking for ways to become even more energy efficient.
