RDS AN/PDR-83-SIM Sensitive Gamma DT-726 Probe Simulator

Enhance Your Radiation Threat Detection Without Compromising Safety

LUDLUM MEASUREMENTS INC.

Sensitive Gamma DT-726 Probe Simulator

The Ludlum Measurements Inc. Sensitive Gamma DT-726 radiation simulator probe has been designed to work with Argon's simulation RDS AN/PDR-83-SIM base unit.

The Sensitive Gamma DT-726 Probe connects directly to the RDS AN/PDR-83-SIM base unit via a flexible cable, or it can be mounted on the Telepole. This allows trainees to practice remote monitoring of high radiation levels from a safe stand-off distance.

Key Features

    • Inverse square law (1/r2) response within real detector tolerance.
    • Simulation of user body shielding for source location.
    • Realistic representation of different shielding effects.
    • Responds to Simulation check source.
    • No regular calibration.
    • No preventative maintenance.
    • PlumeSIM compatible.
    • Compatible with other Argon radiological simulators.

RDS Sensitive Gamma Probe

You can "hot connect" and disconnect the simulation Sensitive Gamma Probe DT-726 just like the real instrument - no need to turn the simulation RDS AN/PDR-83-SIM base unit off, and most impressively the base unit display screen splits to show both readings. This enables your teams to experience the higher reading obtained due to the Sensitive Gamma Probe while monitoring the base unit reading at their personal location.

The inverse square law response is highly realistic, and the effects of shielding between the probe and base unit are accurately simulated to support precise source location. This enables you to ensure that survey teams clearly understand how to interpret their instruments and how to respond effectively in an emergency.

High Impact Radiation Training

Response speed and characteristics are very similar to the real detector permitting realistic source search/find training to be provided. The RDS AN/PDR-83-SIM even supports different units of measurement such as Rem, Sv/hr etc.

Simulated sensitivity enables the simulation Sensitive Gamma DT-726 Probe to detect the RadSIM-GS4 simulation Gamma/Neutron source at a free space distance of typically 200 feet (60 metres) distance line of sight. Our powerful Radsim source App enables you to set a wide range of simulated source activity.

Easy, Consistent and Repeatable

Powerful proprietary signal processing ensures simulated readings are repeatable each time students revisit the same scenario location and also ensure the readings observed on different simulators are within the accepted tolerances of actual detectors; all contributing to the provision of high-quality training and easy exercise set up.

No preventative maintenance, calibration or consumables (except batteries) are required ensuring whole life cost of ownership is minimal.

PlumeSIM Compatible

The simulation RDS Sensitive Gamma Probe is fully compatible with PlumeSIM, Argon’s proven live field and tabletop CBRN exercise system. Used by many leading training organisations worldwide, PlumeSIM enables real-time, instrumented wide-area exercises for nuclear, hazmat and chemical warfare scenarios. Multiple types of simulation devices can be deployed together, all responding in real time to simulated hazards to deliver highly realistic tactical training.
