Civil Chemical LCD SIM The LCD series of CW agent and TIC detectors developed by Smiths Detection include the LCAD and the Smiths Detection offering for the US Army JCAD programme. The LCD series simulators faithfully replicate the look and performance of these high technology detectors, whilst maintaining compatibility with our other CW and TIC training simulators. Because the user can change the sieve pack on the LCD series detector, we implemented a simulation sieve pack. The Instructor is able to initiate a simulated sieve pack depleted symbol on the simulator, which then expects the student to change the sieve pack. (we provide a spare, and the simulator can actually tell the difference between the two sieve packs!) There is also a simulation confidence tester which looks and performs just like the real confidence tester. An instructor remote simulates persistency, partial and full decontamination and the effects of wind. The simulator also monitors correct use of the equipment and reports any student errors to the instructor.
