CBRN training needs to exercise a number of aspects of your students capabilities. Quite often these days a number of instruments might be used as part of a search or survey, for example a CAM(tm) and an AP2C(tm) for initial assesment, then a Hapsite(tm) to aid confirmation and identification of the substance present.
For an interesting scenario you might wish your students to locate some live agent, a false positive of the CAM(tm), an IMS based detector, and some sulphur based substance that is not a CW agent that can provide an indication on the AP2C(tm) a flame photometry based detector. The Hapsite would then be used to identify each substance.
To produce this scenario you clearly need a simulation system with compatible look alike instruments capable of being stimulated by a common technology. This is exactly what we have developed, and we have continued this consistency across our entire range, with each simulator replicating the response characteristics of the genuine detector.
So why simulate? Here are some typical benefits:
1) Low cost of ownership due to lack of damage to real instruments.
2) Simulators do not contain a radioactive source.
3) The simulators can report the errors the trainee makes.
4) Safe, Environmentally friendly simulation.
5) Simulant sources can be used indoors and outdoors.
6) Scenario remains totally under instructor control.
7) Simulators do not require regular callibration.
8) Simulators do not require preventative maintenance.
9) You can simulate persistency and decontamination electronically.
10) You can use soap and water for decontamination training.
11) You have total control over your exercise at all times.
Our CD Rom video provides excellent examples of how our simulators can improve your CBRN training. If after reviewing our website you cannot find the simulator you require or have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.
